This is a sequel to our first game, Countdown To Blastoff: Race Into Space. Whereas Race Into Space is a family game and the goal is to score points over a sequence of launch cycles, Mission To The Moon is more of a strategy game. Instead of scoring points, players compete to be the first to complete four categories of missions in order: Rocket Launch, Earth Orbit, Lunar Orbit, and Lunar Landing.

The playing deck is mostly unchanged, but Space Agency cards and Mission cards are added to the game.

Mission To The Moon comes with Launch Status boards and Mission Control boards.

When missions are completed, players move the Mission cards to the Mission Control boards. These cards can then be used during future, more-challenging, missions – to pave the way for your success and help you avoid mishaps that can delay blasting off.
